Biography

Rachel L. Hampton joined Capital University Law School in 2025, and teaches Legal Analysis, Research and Writing. Prior to teaching full-time, Rachel worked as a litigator in private practice at two law firms in Chicago and Columbus, primarily focusing on civil trial and appellate litigation. Before that, she served as a law clerk in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Throughout her legal career, Rachel has taught writing-related courses to undergraduate students, served as an adjunct, and volunteered with law students. She is licensed in Ohio and Illinois, and has admission to several federal district and appellate courts. Rachel lives in Bexley with her husband.
